Study and Work in the UK
ETCi’s Sandwich Course offers you practical work training combined with a specifically designed UK Vocational Course in Employment Skills.

What’s included?

  • 30 hours per week tuition over 2 weeks
  • Practical training with regular assessment carried out by ETCi Assessor
  • Paid work training for either 6 or 12 months
  • Issue of NCFE Certificate in Employment Skills Level 2 (on successful completion of portfolio consisting of theory and practical units.)

What qualification do I get?
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Employment Skills.  It is designed to offer you the opportunity to develop work-related skills and techniques in order to enhance and improve your employability.

The qualification has a particular focus on work experience and requires the candidate to be undergoing work experience as part of his/her main course of study.

Candidates must successfully complete all five mandatory units plus one of the optional units and complete the full duration of the work experience to be awarded the qualification.

Work Placement
A work placement is arranged as part of the course and will usually be in the area of hospitality or catering, depending on seasonal availability.  You can choose whether your placement lasts 6 or 12 months before you travel to the UK, but this cannot be altered once you arrive.

Accommodation
For the classroom portion of the course ETCi will arrange half board host family accommodation at an additional cost.  ETCi will also assist in sourcing temporary accommodation for the work placement in cases where the employer does not provide accommodation.

  • Lunch during the Course
  • Meals during work placement*
  • Bank account opening (if applicable)

*Some employers may provide meals on duty but this is not standard.
